Senior Captain 2025

The Senior Section at Cainhoe Wood is a very active and sociable group of players built on the foundations of its large membership base and underpinned by an experienced committee that ensures the section continues to run efficiently and effectively. We are very fortunate to have loyal and proud members and we extend a warm welcome to new members joining this year and beyond.

I look forward to meeting you all and wish all our members a great golfing experience at Cainhoe Wood in 2026.  We have regular weekly activities on a Monday and Wednesday morning which are well supported although we always seek more of our membership joining in with these activities. We have a full fixture list of matches (home and away) against other clubs for the year starting in April with some new fixtures in the Calendar for 2026. In addition, we have already secured dates for the Senior Captain’s Day, Captain’s Awayday, Winter League as well as  2 days events in the UK throughout the year.  On the notice board you will see all the committee members and the latest newsletter. If you want to play more in the senior section, then simply sign up on IG, or speak to any of us.

The Seniors Section is open to all members over the age of 55 and offers the opportunity to play golf socially and in organised competitions. All competitions are available to enter on the IG app which is available for download at:  https://cainhoewood.intelligentgolf.co.uk  If you need assistance downloading or using the app please speak with a member of staff in the pro-shop who will be able to assist, or contact the committee.

  1. On Mondays there is an organised event in aid of the Senior Captains Charity. Entry fee is £2.  (50% of the entry fees goes to charity and the remainder goes to the Winner, runner up and a lucky dip draw).

  2. On Wednesdays there is either a major competition, novelty competition or monthly  medal. Entry fees are £3 for non-trophy competitions and £4 for trophy competitions.

All new members receive an introductory email from our Handicap Secretary Colin Hare, but if you would like any further information or help with any aspect of your involvement within the Seniors Section, please contact me at seniors@cainhoewoodgolf.co.uk or through the IG app messaging facility.

The Seniors Section extends a warm welcome to you all and encourages everyone to actively participate in the events that are already available for you to sign up for.
